The association ‘Industry 4.0 Austria – platform for intelligent production’ (also known as Platform Industry 4.0) sheds light on different aspects of production and the effects of AI on them in the context of the focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI). At the end of September, the focus was on the topic of quality assurance, which was considered from different perspectives in a workshop with an expert group in Research, Development, and Innovation.
Wolfgang Kienreich, Director of Business & Markets at Know-Center highlighted the theoretical background and described with examples from industrial practice how data-driven approaches could improve quality.
Data-driven Artificial Intelligence can contribute to quality assurance in production value chains in many normative and formative ways. The greatest benefit in terms of quality assurance is achieved where quality can already be ensured in research and development by feeding analytical results from everyday production back into engineering processes.
